Coloring Techniques

Técnicas de coloración para joyas de piercings

At Helix Body Jewelry💎 we use two techniques to color titanium jewelry ✅ these methods are:

  1. Anodizing: Anodizing is an electrochemical process in which an oxide layer is created on the surface of titanium and compared to PVD, it is a relatively simple and inexpensive process; One of its advantages is that it allows a variety of tones such as pastel colors.
  2. PVD (Physical Vapor Deposition) coating: PVD is a physical process in which a thin layer of material is deposited on the surface of titanium by vaporizing a metal or compound in a vacuum environment WITHOUT AFFECTING THE PHYSICAL PROPERTIES OF TITANIUM✅.

👉 When a PVD coating is applied to titanium jewelry, a very thin layer of another material is deposited on the surface of the titanium to create the desired color. This coating DOES NOT AFFECT the crystalline structure or chemical composition of titanium, so the metal retains its unique properties.

👍This technique can be more resistant to abrasion and scratches than anodization and for this reason, in @HELIXBJ 💎 most of our gold and rose gold jewelry is PVD

Note : Not all titanium jewelry necessarily has to be anodized to be considered genuine titanium. Titanium is a light, corrosion-resistant and non-magnetic metal. These properties are characteristics of the metal itself, regardless of the technique used for its coloring.
